Meeting started at 7:05 PM
We had 19 members and 2 speakers from Grasshoppers Garden Center from New Boston.
Marian showed a plant, plans to send to state to find out more about it.
Herbs of month: Walnuts: very good source of Magnesium and Copper, Anti-inflammatory rich in Antioxidant. Has components in walnuts has capability of controlling growth of cancer cell in body. Best to keep in refrigerator.
Millet: with high content of nutrient very high B- vitamin as well as calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, magnesium. One of the best ways to protect your cardiovascular health. And much more.
Red Raspberry: High in fiber, vitamins, minerals. Lower heart disease to help prevent and regulate high blood sugar. Plant compound called ellagic acid, a known chemopreventive, and have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
Japanese Umeboshi Plum: Used for colds, coughs and lots of other things.
Speaker: Elene talked on tools to use to prune fruit trees ,and fruit bushes, where to cut when to pruning. Keep tools sharp and oiled. And when cutting dip tools into a bleach solution so not to spread disease.
Owner of Grasshoppers: Jon donated two $20.00 gift cards to be given to a couple of lucky people. Dale Carpenter and Pasca Ferwerda won the gift cards.
We had homemade oatmeal cookies Pasca made and tea.
